Welcome to the Killeen Billiards Association Website.

This website is dedicated to its members. We will keep you up to date on events happening in the billiard community as well as what is happening locally, within the league. We hope you find the information provided here helpful. Thanks for visiting.

Join the league that gives back to the players. Instead of playing for a trophy and a 3% chance to go to Vegas to play in the Nationals or play for a league that took over 10 weeks to pay the monies owed, we give back CASH to our players, over $120,000. Our teams has represented us well by winning:

THREE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
 2003, 2004 & 2011 LADIES TROPHY DIVISION

TWO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
2008 ACS STATE OPEN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
 2011 BCAPL STATE LADIES CHAMPION

Everyone is eligible.

The BCAPL allows you to bring your best players to the table, as there is no limit to the skill level a team may have. With a 100% handicap system that truly discourages sandbagging, you are challenged to play each and every game to your fullest ability. Our round robin format of play allows you to play five different players each night, regardless of skill level.

If you want to challenge your game, I invite you to join this league. Ask those who are playing the league what they think. And one last thing, you do not have to be a great player to join, all you have to do is to play to your average. This is a true team effort, not an individual match for a win or loss.

Open Divisions are paid $5 per win with the remaining monies going towards brackets, paying 40% of the league in brackets, up to 5 teams.

We will be offering the following leagues next session:

NEWS TOURNAMENTS

Tuesday 8-Ball

The team Renegades has dropped from the league. We will treat all games going forward as FORFEITS since we are so far into the session. Teams that are scheduled to play against this team still will need to include the $26.25 or the team will be shorted at the end of the session.

Thursday Cove Schedule

Last weeks schedule was not correct. We overlooked and schedule league play between Christmas and New Years, something we never do. There was one match that did play and the rest will be pushed to the end of the schedule. This means the division will be ending one week later

Handicapping

All
8-Ball Divisions have moved to the decimal handicap system. This simply means that you will now have a handicap they may look like 6.7 instead of a 7. Nothing else has changed. List your 5 players in any  order, including the decimal. Add up your 5 players handicaps to get a Team average. Subtract the two teams and then convert to a whole number in the HANDICAP area of the Score sheet. If the difference is between 2.0 and 2.4, then convert to a 2. If the difference is between  2.5, and 2.9, convert to a 3.

Other Changes with the Decimal Handicap System

You may now line up your team in ANY order rather than numeric order, except for the BLIND, which ALWAYS goes in the 5th Position.

All players who are establishing average will be placed in the 1st Position on the Score Sheet rather than the last position, as we have in the past.

I will have my phone on me if you have questions. 254-394-4753.

Verifying Scores after each round.

Not very often does a match score that is not agreed upon make a difference in the determination of winning a round. But when it does and neither team can agree or remember the score, it does create an issue that has to be addressed.
This happened this week. We are going to ask the two players, whose game was played and scored differently, to replay that game and we then will record the outcome. There will be no argument to this outcome.
We are asking that BOTH teams confirm scores at the end of EACH match to help prevent this from happening again. It is going to be put in the KBA By-Laws under Captains Responsibilities.

Weekly Dues

Your team will be penalized $5.00 per week if your weekly dues are not current.
Example: Week 1, your team does not turn in a packet, you are penalized $5.00. Week 2, your team turns in your Week 1 or Week 2 packet without turning in the other, you are penalized another $5.00 because your team is not current.
EZ FIX: TURN YOUR PACKETS IN WEEKLY!!

Our Mission

It is the mission of our league to provide to our members a fair handicap system that challenges your game. A league that promotes one to play their best and to be compensated for doing so.

Company Profile

We started Killeen Billiards Association in 1997 when it was apparent that if you wanted to play in a pool league in Central Texas, you played in the APA. We wanted a choice.

We sanctioned our league with the Billiard Congress of American, or the BCAPL. The BCAPL is the largest organization related to our sport and they wrote the World Standardized Rules of play.

Ask anybody who is playing our league what they think about it. There are several advantages that I would like to list:

  • Round Robin format allows each player to play the same amount of games, with different skilled players.
  • Every member of the team will play 5 matches.
  • Lower rated players are consistently challenged, which in turn improves their game.
  • Higher rated players actually get to play, instead of being a coach.
  • MONEY!! We give back to the players what they put in, over $80,000 so far.
  • VEGAS! You do not have to qualify, our national tournaments are open to all sanctioned members.

My name is Michelle Wells  and I want to earn your business. All I ask is that you give me the chance. I believe that you will enjoy our league and improve from it.
